First things first: you need to book a complimentary consultation. For hair removal, most clients require 4 – 6 sessions spaced approximately 5 weeks apart.  For skin rejuvenation, photo facials, and skin pigmentation services, the number of sessions required varies based on the area and severity of the skin issue being treated.  Our technicians can provide an estimate of the course of treatment during your consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Will the treatment hurt?
During treatment a feeling of heat and a light snapping sensation like the snapping of rubber band may be experienced.  IPL technology has built-in cooling to reduce discomfort and has been proven to deliver rapid results.  Many clients find that the most discomfort is experienced in the initial treatment when the most coarse, thick and/or ingrown hairs are present.

How will my skin look after the treatment?
Reactions to IPL treatment varies between clients however a very mild sunburn-like sensation can be experienced. This usually lasts 2-24 hours but can persist up to 72 hours.

Do I have to change my routine or take time off work when I’ve had an IPL treatment?
Clients should avoid sun tanning and using tanning beds and lotions for at least 4 weeks prior to an IPL treatment.

Following treatment, activities that create body heat or aggravate the skin should be avoided, such as the following:

Applying cosmetics to treated areas.
Swimming, especially in pools with chemicals, such as chlorine.
Hot tubs and Jacuzzis.
Activities that cause excessive perspiration.
Sun exposure to treated areas. Apply an SPF-30 or higher daily to prevent skin colour changes.
Aggressive scrubbing and use of exfoliants on the treated area.

Will my hair fall out immediately?
The appearance of hair growth or stubble will continue for 7-30 days post-treatment. This is not new hair growth, but the treated hairs being expelled from the skin. Once any redness has resolved, exfoliation can be performed to assist hairs to be expelled from the skin.
